This little girl is my everything and the very reason you are here

I know I’m supposed to list the things I ‘love’ (the rising sun, adventures with my loves yada yada) but your time is precious and I want to give you more of me from the outset…

I struggled for a long time with who I was; I knew I wanted a creative life of art and adventure but the details never really fell into place. This made my twenties a tricky time as my peers climbed the career ladder and generally made strides to becoming who they were always supposed to be.

The birth of my daughter Thea changed everything; I suddenly had a real sense of purpose and an incentive to make our lives something special. Documenting her early days became incredibly important, so I dusted off the camera and got to work.

As I practiced on her little face it became very clear that this was more of a calling than I’d ever anticipated. I was in love with photography, and the more I shot, the more I wanted to keep on shooting. It wasn’t long before I began getting bookings, and the rest - as they say - is history.

Photographs are more than just shallow reflections on how we look; I believe they give us a chance to preserve details and feelings as our memories inevitably fade. They are an investment in our truth and our future nostalgia - how do you want to feel looking back on your days spent on this earth?

I know, personally, I don’t want staged photos and cheesy forced smiles against a white backdrop. I don’t want someone to airbrush my baby’s already-perfect skin, or ask my children to be anything but themselves. I want their real characters and real emotions; I want them running free in fields with all of their expressions on show. I want raw, honest, artful images of the genuine love that I feel for my family.

I want that for you too.
